Finally got my hands on a XB7 today and did a test and noticed a huge speed decrease on 5ghz. Went from 250mbps to 150. I noticed the channel wifi channel is on a channel that wasnt used on the xb6. The channel right now is 42 and on the xb6 it was a much higher channel which made for much faster speeds. I can't change the channel since xfinity ... Haven't tried this so good luck. If it doesn't work, you may have to call Comcast. Note -- turning off/on from power restarts the gateway (not a factory reset). EDIT: I just tried to do a factory reset. The light on my XB7 does not flash blue -- it stays steady white as you hold the WPS button for roughly 1-2 minutes.No. Only port number one will be active. Port 1 did NOT work for me. Port 3 worked. In case this solution works for you, I have XB7 run directly to 24 port Gb "smart" switch and all device use (incrementally) the same 10.0.0. IP address. Haven't tried poking around with ssh to another device on a different port on the XB7 at the same time but will give it a go and see if there is any difference as far as IP address assignments.. To complete the change, select Apply ...Then click connection—then click WiFi—then next to 5Ghz, click Edit—then in the mode: drop down menu...you want to select 802.11 a/n/ac/ax. Then click save settings. You can do the same for 2.4GHz band as the two options are 802.11 g/n or 802.11 g/n/ax. Personally I leave the 2.4 GHz on “ g/n “..
